This three-part series is designed to identify the challenges of how we use technology in our culture, and equip individuals and families to use it for the glory of God.

Technology is not inherently evil, but it does come with inherent dangers. If the people of God don’t recognize those dangers, we will fall into the same things that entrap the world. losing our testimony and our distinctiveness in our culture. It is a tool that has become a task-master in many lives and hearts, dividing homes and interfering with relationships. In the power of God and under the instruction of God’s Word, we can do better.

Part 1:  The Engine that Drives Us

The Engine that Drives Us gets to the underlying motivations we have for how we use technology.  This sermon looks at the real problem that will help us engage social media and screen time with clear and purposeful thinking, aware of how our hearts are drawn toward overuse.

Part 2:  Taming Your Appetite

The second sermon in our series looks at why our appetites are drawn as they are to things like social media, pornography, binge watching, etc.  Taming Your Appetite provides instruction on how to move toward victory in each of those areas.

Part 3:  Taming Your Communication

Too often, Christians set aside Christ when commenting online or in social media, giving themselves permission to type in ways they would never speak face to face. However, our typed words matter just as much, perhaps even more, than our spoken words. This addresses how to use our speech in redemptive ways, calling us to a higher standard for our communication.
